One day take part in a guided day tour with a scenic drive along small roads that bring you to the mountain village of Kintamani (about 5,000 feet above the sea), which offers spectacular views of Lake Batur and the volcano.
Return through traditional villages with stops in Tampaksiring to visit the temple of Tirta Empul, Bali's most sacred spring pools for a purification ritual. Then drive to the "Mother Temple" in Besakih, Bali's most holy - and Indonesia's biggest - Hindu temple. See the famous painted ceiling at the old "Palace of Justice" in Klungkung, and visit the school of painting in Kamasan. You pass picturesque rice terraces on the way to the walled "Bali Aga" village of Tenganan, and continue to Ubud Hanging Gardens.
Take a guided walk tour through rice field to feel the harmony of the traditional Balinese way of life. Your guide will show you the variety of plants and spices that traditionally used in Bali.
